The picture before and after editing (Click to enlarge the picture):
- Open castle or palace image in Photoshop.
- Right click on layer in layer palette, choose Layer From Background.
- Add Vector Mask.
- Remove superfluous areas using Vector mask and smooth black brush.
- Adjust colors, brightness and contrast (Image > Adjustments). Make colors colder.
- Create sky background for collage, just like in example here.
- Make more contrast colors transitions. Image > Adjustments > Curves.
- Load selection for Sky reflection layer.
- Create a new layer (Opacity 25-30%) and fill selection with white/transparent linear gradient.
- Create Rectangular using Rectangular Marquee Tool in a new layer.
- Fill it with light blue color.
- Go to Filter > Blur > Gaussian Blur (30)
- Transform rectangular on vertical.
