The Breakers (read Blog Article) is a summer home of Cornelius Vanderbilt II located on Ochre Point Avenue, Newport, Rhode Island, on the Atlantic Ocean.  70-room mansion  is built in an Italian Renaissance style. The Breakers is the architectural and social archetype of the "Gilded Age".
